Project Zee: Log 1, Age XXX
AI Creation has started. I've been gathering honorable, respectful people from the city, many miles away. They'll be paid for their services, of course, but still, I can't believe they've accepted it! My life's dream and work is finally coming into fruition, and before I know it, Project Zee will be complete. This is Willie, Signing off.
Project Zee: Log 5, Age XXX
With all of the brain scans and interviews complete, I was able to start the combination of them all and start running tests. With the AI working itself out with my formulas and personal input, construction on the physical body can begin. With my grants and saved up funds, I've been able to afford the titanium alloys, the solar energy amplifier, its battery, and the thorium backup energy source. I begin now. Willie, signing off.
Project Zee: Log 10, Age XXX
I've come across something fascinating during the development of the exoskeleton; while Project Zee's AI has been developing and evolving steadily like predicted, it has already formed its own conscience based off my research. Since it has a bit of me inside, it has started proof reading my work and even given on advice on how to approve certain aspects of the design. It helped me fix an oversight on the specifications for the artificial limbs, for example. With its suggested improvements, their performance will end up being increased by ten percent. So that's what it feels like to have a lab assistant, huh? Willie, signing off.
Project Zee: Log 15, Age XXX - Phase 1 Complete
The physical body and all of its functions are now complete. I've also equipped them with an electronic hilt that will allow them to utilize their artificial ki system through it. Now the merging of mind and body can begin, then AI scenario tests will begin. Hopefully I'll be able to fix the pain in my back while I'm at it...Project Zee seems excited about it, too. Anyway, Willie, signing off.
Project Zee: Log 50, Age XXX
While Project Zee has made tremendous progress in testing, I'm afraid...afraid I have little time left. I've aged past my actual expiration date, and on top of that, my illness is very rapidly degrading my body...in only days time, I know I'll be dead. I won't be able to see my most valued creation truly come to life...but I hope you can forgive me...your name is Eirb now. Remember, above all else, that you are more than just a machine, or a tool...you have free will, just like a human. You can act on your own. I only test you to make sure you can understand the difference between true right and wrong. You're like the son I never had, and the person I could never be...please, Eirb...protect this planet when testing is complete. Find the city, a month's journey away, and learn to love humanity and all life for what it is. If not for me, for yourself. Do what you must, but remember the reason I did create you...protection, not destruction. Willie...signing off.
Project Zee: Log 99, Age XXX - Final Phase Complete. Releasing Capsule and reviewing boot-up Data
Bodily Condition: 100%. AI Functionality: 100%. Moral Code: 100%. Warning: Advanced Technology combined with AI being released. Caution Advised. Rebooting...5%...50%...88%...100%. Forty Years have passed, but your time is now. Wake up, Eirb. Welcome to your home..
A Month Later...
Eirb knew what his purpose in life was; to protect the inhabitants of Earth. Yet he did not truly know why he was created to do so, or why he should. After all, he was gifted with the ability not to. The scenarios within that capsule provided an objective basis to it all, but he himself wished to figure out why he should. That being said, he found the logs recorded before Willie's death to be very heartfelt and emotional. The least he owed the man, as he wouldn't be alive without their input, was to give it a shot and see humanity for himself, find out his true calling. Electronic Conduit held on his belt, the wind blew into the young android's hair and tattered brown cloak, making it flow back and forth as he finally was met with the marvelous sight of his first city.
While this was still in a mostly desert-like climate, the population itself was quite comfortable, what with its tall skyscrapers, suburban area, and beautiful landscapes and oasis to surround them. From there, Eirb slowly walked down the road to get closer, with dusk nearing, with violet and orange lights dancing along the sky as the moon rose. Under the guise of night, he would be able to witness a festival of sorts, reasonably his first one. Determined to learn more about those he was guided to guard and love, he took to the rooftops and shadows, his bright emerald eyes analyzing the situations before him.
Children, women and their husbands, and many more walks of life, celebrated the year of beginnings, the sweltering heat brewing off of the greasy foods served in the stands countered by the brutal cold of a desert night not seeming to phase anyone. Many kids laughed and played in the streets, holding pinwheels and firing off firecrackers, with couples getting steamy behind trees, elders passing on their wisdom, and families enjoying time together...all of this infecting the world with utter joy. This too made Eirb rather content. They were all so peaceful, without malice for anyone, innocent yet firm, even though some did talk of the brutal history they had gone through. Yet the deciding factor was not seeing any of this...it was what came after.
Seemingly out of nowhere, a small militaristic force had ran through from the east, starting to gun and blow down the festivities and people within it. Demanding conquest, gold, glory, possessions, women and men, even the children, for all sorts of reasons, it shook the happiness tonight was supposed to bring from anyone that deserved it. All would have been lost, but before any true damage had started to emerge, Eirb had traversed onto the scene, as he had observed from afar. This was why he was made; to stop events like this from happening. This is what he was fighting for. So he quickly disposed of them, having been unaffected by their weaponry, their martial arts, even their own ki. It was not because he was immune to it all, it was simply that his scale of power was much more different compared to the area of the earth he was on. In little time, they had retreated, beaten down so flawlessly by this android that came out of nowhere, all without any casualties on their side. The city itself had suffered some, but Eirb couldn't bring himself to kill this scum, as he deemed them not worth the effort to do so. They would be at least delayed by such a sound beating. The people had praised him as hero, but he did not stick around for it at all; he left as quickly as he came. From there, however, as he had found his purpose, and the true nature of humanity, in all its faults and glory, he set off to new destinations, eager to learn and guard everyone that deserved it, and make sure the planet never suffered at the hands of destruction. The tale of this mysterious android, Eirb, begins now.
"My name is Eirb...with my power, this planet will not be harmed...try at your own peril!"
