After a brief flight from central city after his adventures in an alternate universe with Shun, Ethar touched down near the edge of what used to be his home, now seemingly nothing but burnt debris.
Grabbing a few smouldering beams, Ethar could feel that they were still quite hot. He quickly piled what was still smouldering into a pile as they soon caught fire again as the wind blew at them.
Sighing a bit, Ethar turned back to the remains of his home, and saw that while everything in his immediate cabin was destroyed, the entrance into the basement seemed mostly in one piece. He slowly climbed down the stone stairway, hoping that everything was still safe. And as he climbed down, he could see a lot of his spells for preserving the different areas of his underground network were still in place.
He saw that the only part of the basement that got damaged was his training area where the immediate blast happened before he was sucked into an imploding vortex.
Moving more debris aside, he saw that his training equipment was in one piece… more or less. It needed to be repaired first before it could be used again. Quickly moving to put his simulator and gravity chamber into their capsule form, He pocketed them and made his way back top side. The stack of burnt beams was blazing high in fire, so Ethar started to grab the smaller pieces of his burnt home and tossed them onto the fire.
Clean up had begun, but it wouldn’t take Ethar long to get out all the big pieces of debris onto the fire. Soon, he found the broken pot that held the plant that had poisoned Ohkara some years before. Oh what a memory that day was. Ethar blushed a bit as he remembered seeing his friend completely naked, and the promise she made that she’d see him naked one day. But he shook it from his mind, and shoved the rest of the garbage into the burning pile until he had a clean slate to begin rebuilding upon.
Looking around at the trees nearby, Ethar thought that the trees around his place were too small for timber, so he took off in a short flight into the forest below. Upon seeing a clearing below, Ethar landed and saw many trees perfect for timber. So he walked to the largest tree, gave it a knock on its trunk to see if it was punky or not.
Feeling the tree to be solid, Ethar made a fist, and punched the tree hard. The force caused the tree to become uprooted and fell to the ground with a mighty crash. “This is going to take a while…” Ethar mumbled as he walked over to the tree next to it. It was smaller then the previous one, so he wrapped his arms around it and begun to pull upwards.
The tree was resisting his efforts to uproot it, but Ethar put more effort into his pulling and felt some roots starting to give way. But the tree was still resisting, so Ethar put even more effort into pulling the tree until it suddenly gave way, causing him to throw the tree up into the air. Dirt and sticks rained down on Ethar as he quickly moved out of the now falling trees path as it crashed into the ground and fell over.
Grabbing both trees by their roots, Ethar took to the air, high enough that the dangling trees wouldn’t damage others, he gradually made his way back to where his rebuilt home would be. He placed the trees down and landed beside them. He walked over to his tool shed, which was still standing, opened the single door and took out a pair of wood axes. “Might have to go into the city for supplies later.” He said, as he held one axe in each hand, and started to chop off the roots and branches of the trees he had brought up.
Now dual wielding axes is pretty much impossible for a normal man, but for Ethar, he was strong and had lots of practice with his axes before. And they weren’t small axes either. Lumber jacks used these axes to cut down trees, so they were large.
Once Ethar had delimbed the trees, he wanted the timber to be perfect so he would get professionals to cut them up. Reaching into his pocket, Ethar took out a cellphone he had received as a present and held it up into the air.
“Hardly any bars…” He said, as he took flight into the air until he had enough bars to make a phonecall. “Lets see… how do I …. oh yeah, here we go.” He said as he dialled a number and put the phone to his ear.
Hearing it ring a few times, he finally heard a voice. “Good afternoon. Who am I speaking to?” He asked, and waited for the voice to answer. “Ah yes, Hello Andrew, a pleasure to speak with you again. Its Ethar. Ethar Luxun….. Yes, the Silver Saiyan.” He said, wit ha bit of a sigh.
“My home needs rebuilding, and I was wondering if I can borrow your portable mill again?” He asked, and waited for the answer.
Sighing again, the answer was somewhat what he wanted. “Yes, I can autograph your sons trading cards…. Wait, they have trading cards now? I didn’t know. Yes, Ill be by the pick it up soon.” He said, as he closed his phone.
Floating down to the ground, Ethar started to walk down the side of the mountain until he came up to a small lumber yard where a man and his younger son were waiting. The child was seemingly very happy to see Ethar, and ran to him asking for his autograph. Smiling, Ethar was more then happy to sign these trading cards that were handed to him. He was quite surprised to see that they contained photographs of different fights that he had been in.
The child thanked Ethar, as he looked to the childs father “Ok, now that that is out of the way, is the portable mill ready?” He asked and the man nodded and pointed to a stack of steel as well as other machinery.
Walking over to the man, Ethar gave him a small pouch, and the man immediately knew what it was. “Mister Luxun, You don’t have to do that…” He said, but Ethar cut him off. “Of course, I would not feel right without paying for use of your equipment.” He said as the man looked at the gold that Ethar had just given him. He was wide eyed at how much there was, and said “Mister Luxun, You can keep that mill for the amount of gold you just gave me! I can buy that new one Ive been needing now!”
Ethar smiled, knowing he had done the man a great service. “I am glad I could be of some help.” He said as he walked ocer to the pile of machinery and picked up the straps holding it all together. He slowly flew up into the air.
He felt the heavy machinery pulling him down, so he put in all of his effort into his power of flight and lifted the equipment into the air. “This stuff is heavier then I remember…” He said to himself as he flew up the mountain back to his home to being rebuilding it.
Remembering how the mill was set up from the last time he had used it ,Ethar had started to set the mill up beside his tool shed. It was then he heard the flutter of wings, and at first he thought it was a large bird taking off from a tree branch nearby, but he quickly realized, it was his Succubus-in-training roommate. “There you are Ethar! I brought ya some cold water!” Summers said with a smile, as she handed Ethar a mug of water. The mug she had pulled from the wreck of their previous home, washed it, and filled it with purified cold water from the nearby stream.
Taking the mug, and sipping from it, Ethar thanked the young demoness for the water as he continued to set up the mill.
Once Ethar had it set up, and plugged into what was left of his Hydro system, he switched it on and lifted the first tree he de-limbed earlier onto the machine and switched it on. The machine gradually pulled the tree into its saw blades and started to make timber from the tree.
“This is going to take a long time… And Im already into August… Gonna have to really work quickly to be ready before the snow flies in October…” He said, realizing the huge project he will be working on al lday, and for a good part of the night. “I can pitch up a tent for now Ethar. You just keep working.” He heard Summers say, and he nodded. “Good idea. But you don’t have to. There are some bedrooms still in one piece down below in the mountain.” He replied, and Summers looked embarrassed. “Oh my, I forgot. Hehehe.” She said as Ethar face palmed.
This construction project was going to take forever to do….
