MmmM!
A young boy holds his mouth tightly with both hands, frantically kicking to keep the air from escaping his lungs while submerged in water. However, despite his greatest efforts, the feeling of asphyxiation proved too great a challenge for the toddler; all the air he had left burst from his mouth and rose to the surface. Medyas rises from the bottom, mouth wide open and desperately gasping for air. Huuugggghhhh
The little girl standing next to him claps with excitement. “Yaay! Kewiel wins again!” she exclaimed. Being only four years old, she was still learning how to pronounce her L’s. Medyas couldn’t be bothered to pout about his loss -again- he was too busy sucking in all the oxygen from Earth’s atmosphere. The boy lay flat on the shallow water with eyes rolled over, chest out towards the sky and tongue hanging from the side of his mouth like a dog. Medyas floated limp with an occasional twitch of the leg to punctuate his utter defeat.
The other little boy, still crouched underneath the water, giggled at his brother’s hilarious dramatics. He slowly joined them to the surface, poking half his face out with inflated cheeks. Just as he came up, Medyas’s torso rose from the water to meet the boy eye to eye. “HOW DO YOU DO THAT???” he exclaimed. They had been competing for as long as their underdeveloped minds could remember, but regardless of how much Medyas improved, Keliel won every single time. If they only knew, Medyas was actually more impressive, given his physical limitations. Their competitiveness had inadvertently granted Medyas a lung capacity far beyond a human his age.
Hm! Keliel laughed, grinning before ambushing his brother with a mouth full of water. The liquid burst out with such a force that Medyas was knocked off his feet just as a wave passed. Panti, their younger sister, clapped and laughed the entire time, also falling back as the wave swept her from her feet. Medyas lay motionless on the water in defeat, ejecting a weak stream of water from his mouth that barely rose three inches.
“Keliel! Medyas! Panti! Food’s ready!”
Keliel rose sharply from the water, Medyas’s ears twitched, and Panti was already halfway there! It had been their mother’s call for delicious yumyums! The brothers glanced at each other, eyes locked for a full second before they started racing towards the blanket their mother had placed over the sandy shore -but not before grappling each other and pushing themselves over the other. “No!” Medyas cried as his brother shoved him underwater and rushed ahead. The boy desperately grabbed onto Keliel’s tail with both hands, planted the heels of his feet into the sand, and then flicked his brother back into the ocean as if he were some kind of red plumber.
Keliel tried to resist, but his buoyancy in the water was too great to resist getting flung by his brother. “Cheeeaaateerr ~~ !” Splash!
Naturally, Medyas was also stronger than the average six year old given his competitive nature with his little brother. Given they had absolutely no combat experience, tossing another being like a ragdoll was no easy feat by any standards. Keliel must have flown a meter before hitting the water. “Boys! No roughhousing!” their mother said, although it was more her playing her role as the concerned parent than anything else. In the beginning, they were worried about Medyas getting hurt given Keliel’s unusual circumstances, but they learned to accept it and view it as a boon to the boy’s development.
Finally, the whole family gathered around for their picnic at the beach. “Where are my little monsters!?”
“Rawr!” Panti was the first to pounce at their father, lunging at his leg, she began a combination of ferocious biting at the knee and excessive salivation. Their father laughed as their little freak did her best to devour his leg little the little monster she was. Next in line was Medyas, whom had defeated his little brother in combat by the skin of his teeth and charged at his father -this time causing the man to fall on his bum in the sand. Of course, nobody could forget Keliel, whom had emerged from the ocean with a vengeance and dealt the killing blow. “Rawr!” He yelled with his two little canine teeth poking out like a vampire. The father was finally defeated with the last little monster charging him to the ground and gently biting onto his shoulder.
Keliel was careful, as they had learned very early on that his teeth were rather sharp for a child. He had learned how to properly bite his father without any painful injuries, though it still made him cringe ever so slightly -he would never show his pain to his kids. The four of them laughed vigorously on the sand, their father completely immobilized. Meanwhile, their mother sat on the picnic blanket shaking her head. “What am I going to do with these boys…”
The rest of the day had been full of delicious homecooked meals and laughter as Keliel glanced out into the vast immaculate ocean; water so pristine and clear they could see the floor with sand as white as Keliel himself.
Post complete.
