After having his morning breakfast, Ethar had stocked up his woodbin and fire as he sat down at his table with the small shredded notebook he had in his pocket. Placing the pieces on the table, he realized that there was much more work piecing them together already, let alone deciphering what sort of techniques the half blank pages were supposed to teach him.
Taking a pair of tweezers, Ethar started to pry the pieces apart and lay them all out on the table, and he started to piece them together like a puzzle that had over 10,000 pieces.
It wasn’t long before he managed to piece together the first page, which had the word ‘Kamehameha’ etched onto it. “Hmm, Never heard of that one before…” He said, as he looked over to his bookshelf and held his hand out. Magical energy illuminated the book, and caused it to float to his hands as he placed the book down beside his work area and opened it up.
The tome was part of his historical section, and he was looking up the name of the technique. While it wouldn’t tell him exactly how to execute this technique, it allowed him to see another name for it. The Turtle Destruction Wave. And THAT was a name he recognised. Reaching out for another tome, Ethar pieced more pages together, hoping that some would lead him to a practical theory about the attack. But regretfully, some pages talked about the afterlife, and a being known as ‘King Kai’ who lived on another plane.
Shifting his focus back to the Kamehameha, Ethar read up a small snippet about the user utilizing their bodies latent energy. However, the notes didn’t describe in what manner the energy was used, and what the attack was supposed to look like. Sighing to himself, he used magic to permanently stitch the pieces of paper together to make whole pages. He got off his seat and walked over to the sink to grab a glass of water. He heard his fridge open up, causing him to turn to see what was going and saw a child with a spaded tail fishing around inside, presuming for snacks. “Summers, What are you doing?” He asked, as the child demoness pulled herself out of the fridge and looked at Ethar with a large slab of ham in her mouth. “Hungry.” Was all she said, before ripping a piece of meat off the larger and chewed it. Rolling his eyes, Ethar asked her, “Finished your chores yet?” and she nodded.
“Alright then. Run along, Im working and I don’t want to be distracted.” He said, as the small girl walked over to where Ethar was researching. Using her small wings and her magic, she hovered above the table looking over what Ethar was working on. “Your looking up stuff about turtles and waves? OH! Are you researching stuff for a vacation?! Can I come to?!” She asked, looking excited as she took more bites from the piece of ham.
Ethar couldn’t help but laugh as he shook his head. “NAh, Just stuff for techniques. I have to be ready for the next attack…. Zarbon was almost too much for even me to handle.” He said, but the small girl just shrugged and went back into her room, where she had come from. “Kids…. Cant seem to keep their attention for long.” He said, smirking as he sat down with his glass of water.
Picking up what pages had assembled themselves, Ethar started to make several small notebooks out of the newly melded pages, each pertaining to different things that the pages were mentioning. For better organization of course.
Taking the small booklet with the Kamehameha information stored, Ethar wandered down into his basement, to where he had his indestructible training dojo room, and placed the book down on a small stone table. Opening it up, Ethar gave a quick glance to the notes and took a deep breath. “Ok, So it doesn’t say whether it’s a beam or a blast… So lets do some experimenting.” He said, as he closed his eyes.
As the notes spoke about latent energy in the users body, Ethar focused there first, and slowly brought up every bit of energy he had in his body and focused it into his hands, which he cupped in front of him. “Kaaame…. Hamme…. Ha!” He shouted, as the energy burst from his hands, but the energy didn’t travel far enough and seemed to fizzle out.
Scratching his head a bit, Ethar glanced to the notes again and tried to figure out what he had done wrong. “Hmm… What am I doing wrong here?” He asked himself, as he had an idea in his head. “Not enough velocity maybe? Perhaps the energy has to cascade over itself in order to form properly?” He thought as he looked towards a training dummy that was set up earlier and closed his eyes again.
But instead of leaving his hands out front, he cupped his hands behind him and started to quickly focus his energy into his hands. He felt his energy swell up inside him and flow like a river into his hands as he quickly charged his attack. It was unlike anything he had felt before, and quickly came to the conclusion, that posture and pose was absolutely key to this technique, as well as power and concentration.
“Kame…hame… ha!” He yelled, as he threw his hands forward, and this time, the energy that burst forth from his hands took the shape of a beam, and soared down the room and slammed into the dummy. The room lit up like Ethar had set off fireworks inside, as the beam vaporized the dummy and slammed into the indestructible wall behind it. However, as every action has an opposite reaction, the force of the beam caught Ethar off guard, and pushed him off of his feet, causing him to fall back against the wall.
“Ack!” He yelped as his back hit the hard wall, causing some pain to sear through his body.
A few moments after things settled, He got back up to his feet and stretched his back out. Feeling it click a few times, he looked at the damage his attack had done against the Dummy, and saw it was gone, and a big black mark was left on the wall that was behind the dummy. Looking in astonishment, Ethar looked down at his hands and smirked to himself. “This technique has so much potential, even in this… novice form. I can see why Whis and Goku wanted me to learn this. Its got quite a kick to it, though, Ill have to change my stance to compensate for that kickback.” He said, as he looked back to the black mark.
“Lets try it again…” He said, as he spread his feet out, one behind him, and one in front as he cupped his hands behind him again, and started to focus. Feeling the flow of energy again, Ethar smirked as he kept his eyes open this time so he could aim the attack better. “Kame… Hame…haaaaaaa!” He screamed, as he trusted his hands forward and fired off the attack again. The power of the attack seemed to be more focused then before, but the force of the attack could be felt in his leg as he kept himself firmly in place. And instead of ending the attack, Ethar would push himself more into the attack to make it continuous.
The room was lit up again in the spectacular light show until Ethar called it quits with the energy flow, causing the attack to fizzle out. The smell of something burning filled the air, as Ethar saw the wall was smoking from the incredible attack. But the smell caught Summers’s attention, who came running down into the basement and saw the mess Ethar was making to his training room. “Ethar, what the hell are you doing down here?!” She asked, as he turned to look at the small succubus.
