A Norans Special Day (Open to All)

[Ethan Snow]

Ethan was still trapped in Okara's grasp, his short-circuited brain still trying to get control over his rebellious teen-aged body while in return, the young lady did everything in her power to keep that control away from him. In the corner of his mind that was still working properly, the blue haired boy was surprised that Brandon hadn't even taken note of the ridiculously flirtatious hug. At the same time he was thankful, the last thing he wanted was More of a scene, especially in the company of the young woman he didn't know beyond her name. Even more thankfully, she and Ethar were either purposely or coincidentally unaware of the scene. Whether they were purposely ignoring it or not he did not know, but it made no difference.

Interestingly though, as the quartet conversed, Ohkara slowly let go of him and backed away, which in turn freed Ethan to turn and duck into the kitchen where he'd busy himself behind the refrigerator door. No doubt Ethar's live in maid had picked up on the boy's problem, he'd looked up the word he kept calling her and had rolled his eyes upon the realization. Hopefully though she'd leave well enough alone, if not, he didn't know what to do.

Celeh didn't seem to take the offer of dinner as a date. In fact, she was more looking surprised that he'd offer her companionship after she nearly ruined the mood at his party. Still, the soldier took a deep breath and nodded. "I suppose it is the neighborly thing to do. If you're offering I'd certainly not turn down a meal. Especially if your cooking is good. I've yet to taste any of it, so we'll see."

She glanced over at Ohkara and Ethan, but didn't really have much to say on the matter. She was a little concerned that the green haired woman suddenly looked much more meek and reserved than usual. She raised a brow at this and watched in silence. Had something happened to make Ohkara act a little more demure than before? She must have missed something. Neither of the two of them seemed to be taking a more dominant position, so what was going on? It didn't make sense to her just yet.

[Ethar Luxun]

Watching Ohkara and Ethan together, really made Ethar think the two really were a couple, despite what has happened earlier. Smiling at Ohkara after she spoke, he couldnt help but feel guilty as he replied "Nonsense. Im just not used to this custom yet. Heh, Forgive me Ohkara. Im sure your present is just as amazing as you are." He said as he started to unwrap the parcel.

Out of the corner of his eye, he noticed that Celeh was looking puzzled at how Ethan and Ohkara were, especially with how Ohkara was acting. He didnt want to get into anymore trouble, or stir up anything new to upset the mood. While Ethar was still a socially awkward nincompoop at times, he could tell that Celeh was in the same boat as Ethar in determining what was on Ohkaras mind.

Carefully unwrapping Ohkara's gift, Ethar carefully unfolded each crease until the object was revealed which was....

Ohkara could feel the eyes on her as her disposition shifted, all the while making her even more uncomfortable. Her gaze dropped to the floor as Ethar picked up her gift, and his kind comment didn’t seem to shift anything for the woman. Continuing to nibble on the tip of her thumb, she shifted uncomfortably against the counter. This was the first gift she’d ever given Ethar. Had she made the wrong choice? What if she went through all that trouble for nothing? What if he already had one?

”No, that’s a one of a kind… There’s no way…” she tried to convince herself, but to no avail.

Finally, as the wrapping paper was removed, it would reveal a white, rectangular box. Upon removing the top Ethar would find an immaculate book, adorned with what looked like dragon scales and gems. Though there was no title to be found, it seemed to radiate something of mystic nature. A book such as this was not a common sight. Inside, on the cover page, Ethar would find a simple note; just for him.

Happy Birthday, Ethar. May it be filled with love and happiness.

The contents of the book seemed to be in an unearthly language, one that Ohkara knew nothing about, nor had she ever even seen. Still, in acquiring the piece of literature, she’d come to the realization that there was nothing like it on the planet. This was indeed a one of a kind find. Something she was sure Ethar didn’t have in his massive library collection.

”H-happy Birthday, Ethar…” Ohkara said quietly, after seeing the man holding the book, ”I-I hope you like it…”

Busying himself in the fridge now that he was free to do so, Ethan found that concentrating on mentally cataloging the contents of Ethar's ice box was quite effective in calming himself, just the distraction he was looking for. Before he knew it, he overheard Ohkara wishing Ethar a happy birthday. Looking up from the fridge and closing the door after retrieving a bottle of milk, Ethan noted that Ohkara's gift had by now been opened. Pouring himself a quick glass and replacing the bottle of milk back into the refrigerator, the blue haired teen stepped out of the kitchen, glass in hand and decidedly much more ready to join the party.

"Wow, that looks old." the teen commented, taking a sip of his milk. "What is it? Ooo, I know, the Necro-comic-con." Ethan added with a cheeky grin. He hadn't yet observed Ohkara's sudden uneasiness, but to the outside observer one would think the two had switched places as now that the boy was more at ease, he was one again free to be his usual boisterous self, and the cornball joke was the proof of it. He didn't even bother to wait to see how his joke went over, after all, in his mind they always went over perfectly. Turning his sights on Celeh the blue haired boy strolled over with the intent of striking up a conversation, after all, they two hadn't ever actually spoken to each other, at least not in his memory.

"Evening miss. Don't think anyone ever formerly introduced us..." Ethan started, passing his milk from his right hand to his left and offering the right to her. "...I'm Ethan. We've met like, twice I think but it was always a mess at the time." he continued, issuing the woman one of his world brightening smiles. ""So, you live near this lunk?" he then asked, gesturing to Ethar with a an accompanying chuckle.

Brandon had been remaining silent this entire time while Ethar was opening up his gifts. He didn't want to get yelled at again by Celeh.

Seeing Ethar unwrap his gift from Ohkara made him lift an eyebrow in curiosity. Ethan joked about what it was, and Brandon shook his head. "Necronomicon you mean?" He asked as he looked at Ethan with actually a serious look. The joke had obviously failed to make any impact on him, as Brandon then looked back to the book. "Doubt it. Besides, its white, like snow. And....scales? Strange book indeed. Never seen anything like it." He said as his curiosity started to grow on him. "Im guessing you didnt find this book in any ol bookstore." He said as he looked over to Ohkara.

He eventually started to smile as he made his own small joke "Your seem pretty adept at finding interesting things Ohkara. Perhaps you should be a professional treasure hunter!"

[Celeh]

Celeh was both impressed and baffled by the gift that Ohkara had somehow managed to locate for Ethar. She didn't know a thing about magic, and it surprised her that Ohkara was able to find such a thing. Still, she was glad that Ethar seemed pleased with it. The whole exchange between the green haired girl and the pale skinned fellow had her confused, too, but that all got shoved aside when a certain blue haired fellow stepped over to her and began to speak. She turned her attention to Ethan now, "Yes. We've never been formally introduced, I don't think. I'm Celeh, Saiyan Warrior and lone wolf. Former lone wolf, I suppose now." She extended a hand to him.

"Yes. I live around the mountain a little ways. Slightly lower elevation, too, butt it's tucked back onto a wide plateau on the mountainside." She explained with a glance back at the others. She shifted her gaze back to Ethan, "I'd be interested to hear the story of how you all got wrapped up together. It's not something Ohkara has filled me in on yet." The soldier crossed her arms and flicked her tail back and forth behind her idly. "As for the circumstances of our meeting before, I wouldn't worry about it. AT this point I feel like chaos follows me around. It's rare that I get to meet anyone outside of crazy situations like the battle in Central City before."

When Ethar found the book, his eyes just widened like a deer in a set of headlights. He gently took the wrapping paper off of teh book and lifted it up. "Oh wow... Ohkara, this is amazing! Breathtaking! HOw did you find this?!" He asked, as he gently turned the book over in his hand. The scales of the book shimmering in the light, as Ethar could feel the book itself radiating a magical power. "Thank you so much Ohkara, this is probably the best thing I ever had in my life!" He said, oogling the book like a kid who just got a new game console.

He wasnt aware of Celeh asking a question to Ethan about how they all met until his mind snapped back to reality. "That is a good question.... How did we all meet?" He said, trying to think of something but couldnt come up with an appropriate answer.

Seeing the book in Ethar’s hands, and his reaction was enough to snap Ohkara back to reality. Her body shifted, and she pushed away from the counter, striding confidently back around into the kitchen, ”Hehe, yeah, it’s something, isn’t it?” she asked, her voice surprisingly cocky to anyone that had noticed her previous shift in demeanor. ”Don’t worry about the how part!” she said, waving a hand at them before turning to the cupboard to retrieve a glass, ”I knew you’d like it, Ethar!”

Heading for the fridge, she’d open it and pour herself a glass of juice. Once finished, she closed the fridge and took a sip from her glass. Suddenly, the conversation shifted to how the group met, and Ohkara almost choked on her drink. This was not exactly something she’d even considered. Because they were never all together, the thought had never come up in the young woman’s mind, but now here it was. She was blindsided. Thinking back on it, she came to the conclusion she’d never discussed her time as a warrior against Celeh’s kind. It had just never really been brought up. Of course, Ohkara had told Celeh about her past anger towards the race. But just how would she react to news like that?

Glancing at Ethan with her peripherals, Ohkara silently hoped that he would answer for them. When it came to speaking, he was the best. Pushing her face back into the cup, she pretended as if she didn’t hear the question at all and turned to face them all, leaning against the counter.

Giving Celeh's hand a good shake, the boy smiled and listed as she explained that she lived right around the other side of the mountain from Ethar and then went on to inquire as to how he, Okara and Ethar had gotten to know each other. "Ah, well I'm pleased to finally get a chance to say hello miss Celeh without building exploding all around us." the shirtless teen joked after releasing her hand.

"How we all met? Well that goes back a year or so now." the boy started, pausing a moment to assemble his thoughts. "It was back when the Saiyan Queen lady started stirring up trouble. Launched that big attack and trashed Central. We lost a lot of good people that day and I knew I couldn't stand up to her alone, so I went underground. Bought a boat, sailed to Metropolis Island and got a lot of help there setting up the resistance network." Ethan went on, nonchalantly dropping the bomb that he was the one behind the resistance, as if it has already been common knowledge to the warrior.

"Well after a couple of weeks we were doing small things, gathering information, stealing shipments of this and that, and most important, gathering fighters and weapons. Ethar I already knew from before the war, but he up and vanished after Central was destroyed. Ohkara though, I interviewed her for her position myself and that was a fun day. That same day we met Zero and Shun. Lost touch with Zero after the way but Shun's around here somewhere. Ethar popped up again a few months later when the war started really going. And I guess the rest is history." Ethan paused again, hoping he was summing things up properly as events from those days had become somewhat of a blur.

"Got practically forced into that whole president thing because everyone seemed to want the guy behind the resistance in charge after the war, but that stuff wasn't for me. I stayed until the rebuilding was underway and left the organization in mister Brown's hands... Still don't know who that guy is actually. But yeah, not the most fun times... Now the party I'm going to be having on my boat this summer, that'll be fun. You should totally come, it'll be super rad." Ethan concluded enthusiastically, giving Celeh one of his world brightening smiles.
