Zheig
Zheig Ipsen
Nickname: Z, Zheig
Gender: Male
Race: Odonian
Age: 25
Racial Traits:
Family Heirloom - All Odonians can trace their lineage back to one, or sometimes two of the noble families that have ruled over Odon since long before their recorded history. Among these families, their are artifacts or weapons of great power that are passed down through the generations, each item or the family's elder making the choice of who is worthy to wield it. These items contain small glimpses of power from every past generation that has wielded them, and they bestow great power on those who share the same blood as the ones who have held them in the past. This special item is bound to the character in every way, and functions as if it were a little extension of themselves. If broken, their essence can repair the item, and if taken from the character they will feel as if they have lost part of themselves in much the same manner as if they had lost an arm or a leg. The ability bestowed upon them by their weapon is generally some form of elemental manipulation, latent psychic abilities, natural healing capabilities, etc.(The ability in question will be discussed at the time of character creation.) The artifact can be called to the wielder at any time, and it travels in an instant to their location from any location, regardless of obstacles or barriers. The object effectively teleports in this manner, although when held by another person of greater strength than the wielder, the artifact will be unable to answer their call. The durability and power of the object is draw directly from the wielder, so breaking it requires the same effort as would be needed to break the wielder's arm or leg.
Fast Learner - Animal-hybrids have the ability to adapt very quickly to situations. By being able to do this humans have a knack for learning techniques quicker than most.Animal Hybrids are able to learn a move every 4000 pl instead of 5000 pl.
Sensitive Hearing - Some Odonians have powerful hearing, both a blessing and a curse as they are more vulnerable than most to sonic based attacks.
Blade of Ipsen
Zheig's heirloom is a five foot long, foot wide, two inch thick blade with a long slit cut out of the center of the blade. The sword has a handle wrapped in leather that is a foot and a half long. The blade is comprised of a combination of mythril and the feather of a giant Roc. His blade grants him greater control over the wind, allowing him to unleash or manipulate bursts of wind in much the same manner that a normal fighter would control their ki. The slit cut from the center of the blade allows it to send off small, bladed waves of wind when swung at roughly the same strength as a basic energy blast, but with a cutting effect rather than an explosion or blunt force.
Techniques
Jet Burst Slash - By channeling his energy into his blade and performing a mighty two handed swing, Zheig is capable of sending off a crescent wave of extremely sharp air currents designed to slash the foe from a distance. Physically hitting a foe with the sword while using this technique doesn't hamper the wind blade that is created, and in fact it effectively means the opponent gets hit with two slashes: one from the sword and then one from the air current.
Skydancing - Literally as the name suggests, Zheig's mastery of the element of wind have allowed him the ability to 'walk' or 'dance' across the air as if it were the same as walking on the ground.
Ki Sense - Fairly standard, Zheig's training and contact with incredibly powerful or spiritual warriors has honed his own spiritual sense enough to be able to gauge the powers of those near him as well as to locate stronger powers over a great distance.
Aegis of Light - Unlike basic energy blasts or his wind techniques, Zheig knows how to use a third, completely different type of energy different from the elements or raw spiritual power. Some call it Divine Energy, some call it The Light, and others still call it Positive Energy, but whatever the name, it is a highly potent form of magic for healing and protecting. This spell bathes the target in a white light, forming a personal barrier around them that blocks damage from all sides so long as the target of the barrier doesn't make any acts of aggression while being protected. The protected can still use healing techniques on themselves or others, but they cannot charge power or use attack techniques. If Zheig uses this technique to defend himself, he cannot also use a healing technique while protected, although he could use an item like a senzu bean if he had one.
Appearance
Height: 6'4
Weight: 216 lbs.
Hair Color: Very Light Gray with a metallic sheen
Eye Color: Blue/Purple
Aura Color: Maroon
Description: Zheig is a tall, sturdily built, and well toned figure. It's not as easily visible under the coat of white-grey fur that covers his form, but he has a very well defined and well developed physique, even for a fighter like himself. His shoulders are broad and his legs are stout, giving him a very resilient and sturdy looking form from top to bottom. Like most wolfen animal hybrids, Zheig has a fluffy three foot long canine tail and a long, slender canine muzzle on his face. His ears rest atop his head and are pointed, rather than on the side and rounded like humans. He has a large scar on both of his hands, just below where the fingers are attached, that runs all the way around his hand like a large ring. Another scar exists on his chest in the form of a large slash down his left peck all the way to his upper abs. The fur is much thinner around these scars, allowing his light pink skin to be seen underneath if he isn't in his full suit of armor.
Zheig's armor is more traditional and cosmetic than it is functional, at least at the level he fights at. Most fighters don't have too much trouble punching through steel or any of its alloy cousins when they can easily level sky-scrapers or topple mountains with one blast or one punch. Still, he wears the armor with pride. It is a personally customized and fitted suit of full plate armor complete with boots, greaves, fauld, spaulders, chest plate, back plate, arm guards, gauntlets, gorget, and a helmet that is shaped so that the face plate can slide down over his canine muzzle without causing damage to his nose or jaw.

History
Planet Odon was constantly embattled in a great civil war that literally divided the planet's populace in half. Normally civil wars are common for 'developed' societies, but this war was not the product of Odonian society. This war was brought to the people of Odon by two factions from other planets. The Paladins, lead by an ascended human named Mox, and the Dark Knights, lead by a powerful dark demi-god named Relic, were locked in conflict over the resources of planet Odon, and both sides had taken to recruiting the native Odonians for their war. The Paladins wanted peace, and to protect the natives, but somewhere along the way their goals were eschewed. The war drew on too long, and eventually the Paladins were too focused on vilifying and demonizing the Dark Knights to realize that they had forgotten their original goal. The Dark Knights were focused on the Odonians themselves. They were the valuable resource that the Dark Knights were after. Their animalistic traits, particularly their natural defenses and heightened senses were valuable for soldiers in combat, and Elios, the right hand man to Relic, planned to experiment on the Odonians to use them as a basis for a super soldier project of sorts.
Forty-four years ago, on a distant planet called Odon, there lived a Wolfen man and a human woman. Zheig was born as Zhyne Ipsen, the son of the village's chief and a warrior with wind in his blood. Hayato, his father, and Cecelia, his mother, raised Zhyne in difficult times. Even at a young age, Zhyne was faced with the harshness of war, and he had to defend his home village from invasions and attacks from both sides. Zhyne's home existed on the boarder between those sides, and this would spell the end for him and his village. With both sides of the war fighting over resources and territory, the small village that lived around and worked on a nuclear power plant was a prime target. The power supplied by the plant was immensely valuable. Aside from the power plant, the village itself was highly self sufficient, using hunting and gathering to fulfill their need for food and the like.
When Zhyne was only fourteen, a powerful, ominous presence visited his village. A vile deity by the name of Relic, who was the leader of the Dark Knights at the time, came to claim the village himself. Seeing the natural fighting talent in the son of the Chief, Relic implanted a portion of his own darkness into Zhyne with the intent of creating a worthwhile soldier and a tool for his desires. Relic left after that, content that the seed he had planted would do everything he desired. And the seed germinated inside Zhyne, fracturing his essence in two. Two persons were split from a single soul. Zhyne, and his 'brother' Kreig were formed. The days following Relic's visit saw great changes in Zhyne, and his parents were worried and terrified. The dark presence within him took control without rhyme or reason as to when or where, and eventually it lead to the destruction of his home and his family. In an act of unfathomable violence and destruction, Zhyne's darker half took control, cut down his father and took the family sword while he slept, and then made the reactor melt down, causing catastrophic damage to the surrounding area.
Zhyne's body was decimated in the blast. With his body crippled and his mind fractured, it seemed that all hope for him was lost. His home was obliterated, and his family was dead at his own hands. Relic's seed had worked wonderfully, but things did not go as planned even then. The seed was never meant to create a new persona. It was meant to corrupt and overtake his original self. It failed. Zhyne's spirit rejected the darkness so strongly that, even as it tore him in two, his spirit would not break.
Zhyne's body was recovered by scavengers that had visited Odon from an android planet known as Sector 8. They outfitted him with cybernetic limbs to replace the arm and leg he'd lost, and they installed vital support into his cybernetic enhancements to aid the healing of his damaged tissue. He thanked the cyborgs and set off on his own, looking for a place to call home. The darkness within him still lingered. It was weakened from having been in control during his near-death experience, and so he was forced into remission. The real Zhyne headed to Earth.
It was here that he fit in quite nicely, the Earthlings being comprised of humans and animal hybrids, both of which were part of his genetics. But his happiness and comfort in living amongst his own kind wouldn't last, either. After a few months of rest and relaxation, the darker half of Zhyne reared its ugly head and murdered the ones closest to him on Earth, too. The family that had taken him in and helped him find work, given him a place to stay, and more...were slaughtered just like his own family had been. Left with fear, confusion, and grief, Zhyne fled Earth.
It was now that he came to the paradise planet of Edenia, the home of the Paladins, and the location of the great Temple where Mox stayed as head of his order. The Paladins sensed the darkness residing within Zhyne, and so they took him in and trained him. In an attempt to purge the darkness from him, they showed him the ways of holy magic and taught him how to meditate properly. It did suppress his darker side, but not forever.
Feeling confident in his newly found strength and the positive energy that flowed through him, he left to visit a shaman on the planet of Availon. The paladins had tried to destroy the darkness within him, but had been unsuccessful. Perhaps there was another way to remove this curse that plagued him, and so he went to the shaman looking for alternative answers. He was rewarded for his efforts, but it was a painful and exhausting reward. The Shaman believed it to be an evil spirit possessing him, but that was only half true. The spirit of Kreig, which had been fully expelled from Zhyne's body, fled in fear with no way to combat his 'brother' for control of their body now that he was locked out of it thanks to the Shaman's ritual.
The darker of the two was not as he seemed, though. The dark seed Relic had planted within him had corrupted his existence. If the seed were removed, perhaps he, too, would share the strength of heart and purity that Zhyne had for all his life? All that Kreig knew at the time was that he had to get a body and seek a way to solidify himself as his own person. Being a spirit without a body has its advantages, though. He was basically a ghost, and he possessed one of the denizens of Availon that had darkness in their heart already. A necromancer of sorts, Kreig's victim had all the knowledge necessary to formulate a body for him. Dirt, magic, and bone dust were shaped into a living, breathing form. The binding tattoos were written on Kreig's new body in the blood of the necromancer, who he left behind after getting his new body. But the necromantic ritual wasn't perfect. The body could not sustain itself without the help of a specific potion, and Kreig only had a limited supply of this potion.
By this point word had gotten around of a very special priestess that had come to live on Edenia. Unlike the other paladins and priestesses, she had a pure heart and pure magic unlike any other. Even Mox himself could not match the purity of her magic, or so it was said. She became Kreig's goal. While Zhyne was off performing tasks for the Paladins on other planets, Kreig made his move. Having lived inside Zhyne's body, he knew the temple inside and out. Kreig sneaked inside and kidnapped the priestess in the middle of the night. He took her back to Availon, the place where he was originally separated from Zhyne's body and where he created his own body. Her powers weren't fully developed, and so he had to get her to practice to improve her skills. So she set out to tending the sick and the wounded in the towns and cities of Availon as practice, essentially working as a traveling healer. The Priestess felt sorry for Kreig, and, after seeing his suffering and the level of trust that he put in a complete stranger to help him, she had agreed to try and purge this darkness from him.
Months passed again, and the priestess' skills reached new heights as she and Kreig traveled from planet to planet. Her magic was able to help sustain Kreig, keeping his body held together so that the fell energy that created it didn't destroy it. All this time, the priestess' mastery over her uniquely potent holy magic grew, and finally came the day when she could purify Kreig. The blood tattoos from the necromantic ritual faded, the black fur that had been filled with the darkness that plagued him was transformed to be white as snow, and the body that had been falling apart was finally bound to a properly bonded, pure soul. Kreig was, at last, fully a life of his own, and the dark seed that had been planted by Relic so long ago was snuffed out completely.
A year passed. The two 'brothers' lived their separate lives, improving themselves as individuals and honing their unique skills. Eventually, though, both hit proverbial roadblocks in their efforts. Despite their life and death struggles against powerful opponents, neither seemed to be able to make noticeable progress passed a certain point. And so, in visiting their home to reflect on the past, the two met up for the first time since being forcibly separated by the Shaman's exorcism. In meeting and reminiscing about the past, Zhyne and Kreig realized what they both lacked. In the end, they were splinters of a single person. And so after taking the hand of the other in their grasp, both returned to their original body, the two forms merging and the two essences finally reuniting now that the dark seed had been purged from Zhyne's other half. But Kreig was his own person now, and Zhyne acknowledged that. Their name changed as the two became one. Zhyne and Kreig were no more! They became Zheig.
The reuniting of their full essence wasn't without a price, though. They had to re-learn everything about using their power, because the other half was completely unaware of the techniques the other put to use. Zhyne's paladin training and Kreig's spiritual mastery didn't clash, but with the other half not being so adept, they had to relearn their skills together. One thing bound them together, though, and that was their inherent understanding and mastery of the wind. It grew even stronger now that both of them were complete, and the family heirloom blade finally recognized them as a worthy heir. Their father's katana shifted and changed, forming the wide, long blade that they wield now.
Zheig has since been on Earth, living amongst his own kind and remastering all the things he had once known. He did battle against the Saiyans during their invasion, but only against the lesser footsoldiers that appeared.
