"After the way you mangled that huge fish you caught, I'm not sure if I should trust you to descale and clean the fish. If they end up as devastated by the knife as that one was by your fingers, we'll have mashed fish instead of filleted fish, and I'd rather not eat the bones and guts." Wabisa laughed a bit as she followed him into her cabin with her fishing poles and tackle box in her arms. "You can descale and clean the one you mangled first. If you do a good job on it, then I'll let you do the other two."
The Makyan removed her waders and sat in a pair of silk sports shorts and an a-shirt on one of the chairs at her kitchen table while she waited to see how he did with descaling and cleaning the first fish. "When you're not dealing with potentially lovestruck women, you seem to be much more level-headed. I'm guessing romance isn't your strong suit, eh? Don't fret about it, though. It's not mine either. I'm more of a fighter than a lover. Maybe it's in my blood, or maybe I'm just combative by nature."

Placing his equipment against the door, Brandon took the fish to the kitchen as Wabisa told him to fix up the first fish, hoping that he wouldnt butcher it anymore then he already did.
Fishing around her kitchen, Brandon soon found a cutting board and set it up on the counter, so he wouldnt make a mess with the fish. Placing a big bowl in the sink, Brandon picked out a knife, and used it to remove the guts of the fish into the bowl.
After cleaning the fish, Brandon laid the cleaned fish on the board, and actually started to clean the mangled fish like a professional. Tossing the bones into the bowl of guts, Wabisa could see that Brandon was quite skilled with a knife. "How do you want the cuts? Steaks? Fillets? Strips?" He asked, just before his hand with the knife slipped, and the sharp blade made a slice roughly an inch on the thumb of his other hand.
Dropping the knife and holding his hand, Brandon cussed to himself. "Ah fuck, thats what I get for distracting myself..." He said, as Wabisa could see a black fluid leaking from the wound. Jet black, like actual ink. Not red, like normal blood.
But thats when the pain started to set in rather quickly, as Wabisa could see Brandon trying to hold it back, as he was biting his lip. But that wouldnt be the main thing that would grab her attention. It seemed that as Brandon tried to hold back the pain from the cut, it seem that the light in the cabin dropped heavily, as if black storm cloud had completely blocked out the sun. "Nngh, You got a first aid kit somewhere? Ill finish the fish after I patch myself up." He said, as the black liquid leaking from the cut rolled down Brandons other hand, down his arm, and threatened to drip on the floor.

She watched him work intently, quite surprised that he was, in fact, fairly skilled in regards to cleaning and preparing the fish. She was going to respond to his question of how to carve the meat up when his hand slipped and the knife sunk itself into his flesh. Wabisa winced a little and shook her head. Her eyes trained back on him, though, when the light in the house seemed to dim greatly. It was almost like something out of a horror film that the Earthlings seemed to enjoy making. "Shit, man. That looks deep. You alright?" She didn't make any comment on the dimming of the lights. It had happened to him once before when his aura resisted Rascal's clothes beam technique.
Wabisa took a deep breath and went into the bathroom cabinet to get out the first aid kit. She brought it back to him and set it down. "Since the fish you're trying to carve up was already damaged, it's probably best to take whatever you can get from it. I doubt there's enough consistent quality meat to get fillets, so just aim for strips. Get some steaks if a thick enough slab is in good condition. First, though, you gotta patch that up." The Makyan didn't try to stop the blood from dripping onto the floor. If anything she was now curious what his blood might do. His touch alone caused plant life to wither and die, and the poor fish looked like the life was choked out of them in an instant when he grabbed them. "Look at it this way, guy...at least you aren't oozing underworld flames and scorching your surroundings when your energy gets a little out of control. Dimmed lights don't cause people to erupt into flames that water can't put out." She was speaking in a teasing manner this time. She didn't actually know a thing about underworld flames, although her assumptions weren't far off from the truth.

"Thank you. Im sorry for causing all this trouble." He said, as he walked over to where the kit was, and opened it up. Quickly grabbing some medical frabric and tape, Brandon held his cut shut as he quickly wrapped it up.
However, as Wabisa was watching Brandons blood, there was a few drops that fell off his arm onto the floor. When it splattered on the wooden floor, it just looked like a regular drop of ink on the floor. But a moment after that was when things got interesting.
The area around the splash zone turned darker and darker, before it started to disintegrate like it was rotting at a alarming rate. Of course, Brandon did not notice this as he replied to her "Im pretty sure water on its own can't douse Hellfire." He said as he finished bandaging his thumb up. His black blood somewhat staining the bandage, but it was holding.
Packing the kit back up, Brandon smiled as he turned to continue work on the fish, but Brandons foot stepped on a place where his blood had hit, and like rotten wood, Brandons foot went right through it, causing him to almost stumble. "What the... How the heck did THAT happen?" He asked, genuinely confused.

Wabisa's eyes glimmered with interest as she saw what that blood did to the wood flooring of the house. It was as if the wood floor had aged and weather worn years of damage over just a few seconds before it fell into saw dust-like pulp. She chuckled cooly, "Don't worry about it. It's not the first time I've seen some strange stuff after someone started bleeding. You're probably right about the hellfire, though. Black flames are supposedly impossible to put out."
Wabisa sat back down at the kitchen table and crossed her arms, watching him patch himself up. Apparently he didn't catch the fact that his blood made a hole in the floor until after he had finished with the first aid kit. She chuckled again as he stumbled, "THAT happened when your blood dripped down your elbow and fell to the floor. The floor looked like it aged thirty years in an instant, with all the weather wear and use that you'd expect in the time period. Then it fell into sawdust and made that nice hole you just stepped in."

Brandon listened to Wabisa, then looked down to his foot. He pulled it out of the hole then walked over to the fish to finish up with it, making sure not to cut himself again. "My blood did that? Very odd... I guess the fact that Im human is out of the equation now. Hah." He said, cutting the fish into strips, taking out every bone he came across.
Eventually, he grabbed a paper towel and wiped the black blood off of his arms. Surprisingly, the blood did not seem to effect teh paper towel like it did the wooden floor. "But that does raise some huge questions... I get a lil cut from a knife... But I fall from the sky, and yet Im uninjured... How in blazes does that even happen?" He asked, as he finished the fish and cleaned up the mess he had made with it. Putting the strips on a plate, he looked at it for a moment, then started to look around for something else in teh cupboards before finding a box of dried up rice, and started to put a pot of it on to boil.
"My blood kills local flora... rots away wood... Its almost like my blood is death itself almost. Weird isnt it?"

There was a distinction to be made here, and Wabisa figured she might as well let him in on the modern day ideology of things. Or at the very least, it was her ideology. "Human generally isn't a term used to describe a person's race anymore. The proper term for persons born on Earth is Earthling. Humanity is a more abstract concept extended to all intelligent life in the universe that shows self-awareness, emotion, and understanding of abstract concepts. My definition is a bit vague, I guess, but humanity doesn't just belong to so-called humans anymore."
She paused as he asked about the knife wound and the fall and just laughed. How did he not understand this one? "That's pretty simple. It's the same as if you were being caught unaware in a fight. A punch you aren't prepared for can be devastating, or even fatal if your opponent is strong enough. On the other hand, even from a stronger foe...a punch you've braced yourself and defended yourself against can be taken without serious damage most of the time. Get what I mean? Your energy can protect you from massive damage, but if you aren't aware and ready for the attack...well...you saw what happened to your hand."

Listening to Wabisa, Brandon could help but let out a chuckle. "Oh really now? Seems like things changed alot in 300 years." He started to say, but when he heard her laugh, his smile kinda died off.
"So what your saying is... I might of been conscious and aware of what was happening during the fall, and that my Amnesia happened during at the impact?" He asked, as he finished cleaning up his mess. The rice wasn't boiling quite yet, so he took the time to sit down next to Wabisa. "Thats a lil hard to beleive really, ya know? if that was the case, oddly specific for one impact to wipe out 300 years of memories." He said, letting out a sigh.
"I also cant believe that Im...roughly... 328 years old now... I didnt think Id survive this long... My adopted parents didnt know when I was born, so no one knows my exact birth date....."

She shook her head at him yet again and shrugged, "I don't really find it that hard to believe at all. As a professional bouncer, I've had plenty of situations where people I've hit were clearly unconscious, yet they were still standing and taking swings at me. Instinct and muscle memory take over when the body is threatened, whether you're aware of it or not. But the body can't react to an attacker it isn't aware of even in those situations. The ground was fast approaching, and your body exerted energy to prevent you from becoming a grease stain in the sand. But, you were in total control of that knife, so your body believed it wasn't a threat at all. A slip of the hand...and...ouch. That's what I believe, at least. It might seem a bit far fetched for you. If I may make a point...your impact crater turned to glass from the heat emanating from your body when you impacted, yet you don't remember the fall itself. I'd say that's a case of your body pressing its internal 'Oh shit' button and putting all your energy towards protecting you when you hit the ground. But you weren't strong enough to completely stop your descent, especially when unconscious, and the force of the impact knocked a few screws loose up top."
She paused to take a breath and crossed her arms under her chest, leaning back in her chair at the table. "There is the alternative that you weren't unconscious for the last three hundred years...and that you or someone else put you here...into the future. Usually time travel happens to avoid a calamity of sorts. But if that's the case you'd have gone to the past instead of the future, right? Because otherwise you'd just put yourself even further into the destruction after the calamity."

"So instincts then. That makes things ALOT easier to understand actually." He said, as his smile returned to his face. Wabisa was really trying to help Brandon out, and he could sense it fairly well. "But I think it knocked more then a 'few' screws loose. Hahah." He said as he ended up laughing a small bit before Wabisa started to talk about time travel.
"I highly doubt that time traveling is a factor here. But if it is... And I was sent back here to prevent some disaster... Well, Kinda useless with this amnesia eh?" He asked, laughing again as he knocked on his own head.
Hearing the rice starting to boil, He got off his seat and made his way back to the stove and started to stir it around. "So what kinda Sushi do ya like?"

Even with the reasoning that it was his instincts that saved him from becoming a grease stain in the sand when he fell from the sky, it didn't rule out a few other possibilities regarding what pushed him forward in time about three hundred years or about the nature of his power. So far she'd seen his energy turn sand to glass, flowers to withered, wilted husks, kill fish on touch, and partially reject a seemingly beneficial technique from someone else. Normally this wouldn't be an issue, except these things were all done unintentionally as far as she could tell. And instinct being in control when such things were possible was quite dangerous. The Makyan looked him up and down again, as if her eyes were looking for more than just a physical entity. She couldn't sense energy in the same way as many other fighters, though, and so her gaze amounted to nothing more than a very intense stare.
"It's not that you traveled back. I thought you might have traveled forward. Regardless of if time travel is an issue or not, there's something very odd about you having a three hundred year gap in your memory...and also not being able to remember your seemingly normal life before that huge gap. If we consider the fact that your power causes death at the slightest touch and is intense enough to turn sand to glass...I'd almost be willing to believe that you were a product of voodoo or necromancy or something. I mean, you said yourself that your skin color changed, you don't remember your old life from three hundred years ago, and your powers are clearly tainted by death and darkness. You could have been brought back from the dead to be someone's tool."
She shrugged at that and then responded to his question about sushi, "I prefer crab, but since we're just using fish and not shellfish, I'd just like some fish wrapped in rice. I don't have any seaweed to do it traditionally, but I do have a seaweed substitute, and we can put fruit into the rolls if you want. There's plenty of fruit in the fridge."

"Well, I do remember some parts of my previous life before the gap. Its just fragmented." He said, as he listened to her suggestion about the fruit, and wandered over to the fridge and took out some exotic fruits, as well as some vegetables.
Carrying them back to the prep area, Brandon listened to her theory about him being a product of a darker power. "If I was resurrected from the dead, wouldnt I be covered in dirt and stuff since I would of risen from the ground, not fallen from the sky?" He asked, a bit confused to her theory. Granted, some of it did make sense to him, but if he was killed, that would of been an event he would most certainly remember.
Cutting up the fruits and vegetables, Brandon made an actual large variety of different Sushi. Infact, one could of thought that Brandon was a sushi chef in his previous life, but infact.... Brandon was actually experimenting with the various combinations, occasionally taste testing the odd piece of sushi to make sure it tasted good. But on one piece, he gagged a bit, and hocked up a tiny fish bone.
"Whoops, missed one. Hahaha."

"I can't say for certain why you'd fall from the sky as opposed to rising from the grave. There's the possibility that you died in space and resurrecting you called your body to this planet, which would mean your resurrector would be here on Earth." With that said, she elected to jump off the topic of his origin or why he had strange powers that caused death to whatever he touched.
"Very exotic combinations of fish, veggies, and fruit you're fixing up over there, huh? At least the saltwater white fish goes well with most things. It's not hard to match it up with something good. I've got soy sauce as well, so we'll have something to dip it in if you want." Her eyes followed the motion of the knife to see if he happened to accidentally cut himself again.

"Thats IF Im a corpse...zombie... What have you..." He said, still skeptical about being risen from the dead. "ID have to go to a public library and see what the systems have on me." He added, as he continued to nmake up the sushi.
Eventually, he started to plate it and put them on the table, along with Soy sauce, and some Wasabi sauce he quickly made up from a powder he found in a cupboard. Once the final plate was finished, there was atleast half a dozen different types of Sushis for Wabisa to eat.
Cleaning up the counter, Brandon soon sat down at the table as well after grabbing a pair of forks, and placed them on the table. "Well, Bon Appetite I guess. I hope I did alright." He said, as he sat down and waited for Wabisa to take the first bite.
