"Warning. Warning. Warning."
"Shut up, I know!" Takris said as he smacked the offending screen with one giant scaly hand, then turned his attention to the other multitude of flashing screens that warned of failing structural integrity, engine trouble, power fluctuations, and more. The Maraikohn slapped a hand to his muzzle and dragged it down the length to the small horn at the end of his nose. "I knew I should have gotten this thing serviced before moving on." He looked up from the controls, at the two celestial objects coming ever-closer to him. "Oh well. At least I'm here."
He could hopefully coax a little more speed out of the engines; according to the ship's sensors he was only ten thousand kilometers away from the moon, which was now massive in the viewscreen but just as quickly gone as he flew past it, leaving the Earth as the only thing in view. Gingerly reaching forward and pushing gently on the throttle, the ship shook violently and a tremendous BANG echoed somewhere behind him. "That didn't sound good." The ship was moving faster; Earth was rapidly growing in the mirror. Now the ship just had to last long enough to get him there.
It lasted past the atmosphere before it finally quit. Pieces had broken off during the atmospheric entry, but now, everything just plum quit. The engines had shorted out, exploding violently and shaking the ship before sending it into free-fall. Takris harrumphed annoyed. Where to land, where to land...he closed his eyes, focusing. Most of the population of Earth was fairly weak, their power levels barely registering. However, there were a number of much more powerful beings. Takris smiled to himself. His journey hadn't been in vain; Earth did indeed have a number of powerful warriors on it, and one was right below him, in the city that, according to the cameras, he was just passing over.
Takris extended a hand, a ki blast blowing out the window in a flash of light. He leapt out of the smoke, watching his ship continue onward before it finally exploded, sending smoking wreckage cascading out from the blast area. Takris then stopped and let himself fall straight down, angling himself towards the other power signatures, the cloak he was wearing flapping in the wind as his long mane of blond hair was pulled upward by the wind. The city below him stretched out for miles, but the power levels were visible across them. He angled on the one closest to him, heading towards a large houseboat that hung out in the bay. He'd slow himself down to avoid sending the boat flying, but it seemed like as good a place as any to meet someone new.
