The clouds were thick in the sky, the sun seldom peeking out from behind their cover. Small flakes of snow danced downwards towards the ground, which was already blanketed thick with soft snow. Birds were chirping, squirrels squeaking, the sound of wildlife could be heard all around. All in all things seemed very peaceful inside the forest; nothing was out of place, nothing seemed to note any signs of distress either. Had it not been stated otherwise, no one could have ever guessed anything was up at all.
St. Nick had tasked the warriors with splitting ways in hopes of finding the culprit they were to catch, and thus each team of four had gone their separate ways. Team Alpha was sent towards a path to the right side of the forest, Team Bravo was sent down a path to the left. What either team would find in their search was unknown. Hopefully, they’d be ready.
(Posting order and power level locks will be established in the order players enter this thread. This account will act as the DM for this thread. Both Alpha and Bravo threads will take place simultaneously, and as such large attacks/energy signatures/noises, may all be noticed in the opposing thread. You may also choose to ignore these things if you see fit. As has been stated, there is no thread of death in these threads; however, teamwork is a must for finishing these events. Most importantly, don’t forget to have fun!)

Ethar, currently being the strongest of the group, started his search down the left path, looking for any sort of creature that would of been the cause of the trouble he was sent to investigate with the others. However as he walked, he tried to sense out any powerful entities nearby, but only sensed the animals around Team Bravo. But far off, he could sense Ohkara, Ethan and the others.
Looking behind him, Celeh, Gælon and Xero... three people he has never personally teamed up with before, all had powerful energies... Except Xero. For some reason, he couldnt sense anything at all, like he was not even there. Though If they came across anything, they would have to work together to overcome whatever they were told to look for.
Ethar could see his breath in the air thanks to the cold temperatures, but he was fairly used to them thanks to his time on the mountain. "This is actually quite a nice place. Wouldnt mind coming here again to relax..." He said, as he looked back to his comrades. "Keep your eyes AND ears open. For all we know, this 'thing' we are looking for could be hiding itself.... waiting...."

Xero scoffed as the man known as Ethar seemed to try to take the lead position. The man in red had made things fairly clear that teamwork would be needed to accomplish the task at hand, yet here he was trying to be the bigshot. Still, the alien would say nothing in opposition of this; there was very little to gain by starting a quarrel over such a minimal thing. Taking the rear in the group, Xero would do his best to avoid conversation, unless someone directly addressed him; to say he was actually experienced in teamwork would be a lie. It had been nearly one hundred years since he had anyone to socialize with, and in that time his social skills had dwindled to nonexistence.
Still, Hellbringer insisted this would be a good way to earn the trust of these strong fighters, ”These are strong warriors. Feel for their energies, each one is well above the levels of the normal populous. There is no doubt that these fighters are ones that would be beneficial in our quest for knowledge,” the weapon assured him, ”Gain their trust, earn their favor, then ask them to share their knowledge.”
Huffing, Xero placed a hand to his forehead, ”Yeah, easy for you to say…” he whispered under his breath, far below a whisper, ”Just stay sharp.”
As he trudged through the snow, the small amount of snowfall began to accumulate on his body, not melting as it touched him like it would the others; as he exhaled, his breath would not form a cloud of vapor, and most notable, if the others had the ability to sense energy signatures they would feel none from him. There was no doubt that in this party he was the odd-man out. Still, he’d continue to scan for any signs of distress as he followed the group silently. All senses on point, he was undoubtedly ready to prove his worth in battle, and get this uncomfortable group activity out of the way as quickly as possible.

Awkward was an apt adjective to describe the ride in the rocket propelled sleigh after Gælon and the silver haired gentleman initially spoke. It wasn't that the dæmon didn't have anything to say, but rather the sheer number of people in the group and the closeness in the vehicle that prevented anything more then idle chit chat. Unfortunately aide from the perky young man in the Santa cap and who Gælon assumed was his girlfriend, the whole group seemed to be more set on their mission then any meaningful discourse. So with outright flirting out of the question and conversation somewhat hard to come by, the incubus resigned himself to waiting out the flight in relative silence. However once they had the opportunity he would ensure there was at least some conversation.
Finally though after landing they divided off into two separate groups and at once the man in the sharp business suit and stylish black coat put his keen senses to work, sussing out his three companions. Interestingly enough he was paired with the same silver haired gentleman that he spoke to before their departure, a woman in a cloak that seemed capable of winning a staring contest against a mannequin, and lastly a brown haired fellow that seemed to thing of himself as the cock of the walk. He even started off down one of the paths without the rest of the group, apparently forgetting the red clad, fat man's instructions. Oh well, at least the cloaked woman at the silver haired gent were still near by and Gælon would enjoy ever moment he could.
"Perhaps some proper introductions are in order before we follow the headstrong fellow down the path." Gælon announced, facing first one and then the other of his companions. "My name is Gælon Andronazi, I'm so very pleased to make your acquaintances and do hope that we can work smoothly together... And on that same note, I should admit, I am not a military tactician, I am a business man. And while a hostile takeover can be likened to a military action, I make no claim to any actual experience prosecuting a war. However, if either of you do have experience in that area I will of course defer to your leadership and advice... Sir? ... Madam?" he went on and concluded with prompts to both of his still present companions to introduce themselves and perhaps share something about themselves.

Celeh was here for the mission. Fighting experience, even in a strange and fantastical situation like this, was something she thrived on. Her whole life...er...previous life...she'd been a soldier. Even now, it was really all she knew. And she wanted to put that to use the best way she could. This would benefit the greater good if the stories were to be believed about the supposed client requesting this gathering of warriors to fight on his behalf. Celeh was more than happy to get out of that rocket powered sleigh, though, as the cramped conditions in proximity to so many unfamiliar persons made her uneasy.
She didn't take to following Ethar immediately when they got out at their respective search location. The saiyan crossed her arms over her chest armor and her tail flicked about anxiously behind her. The cold didn't bother her much. She had trained in the cold up here once before, albeit on a mountain. The woman glanced over to Gaelon, who began talking after Ethar started venturing off. She glanced to Gaelon with a brow raised, "I'm a lifetime soldier and a veteran of more battles than I care to count. I'm not one to take up the mantle of leadership willingly, but you can count on me for cover and support if things get dicey. As much as I don't like relying on strangers, the success of the mission comes first. And in my definition, that success also includes our combined survival."
She didn't have anything else to say, but then remembered she hadn't introduced herself. "Name's Celeh, by the way." And with that, the saiyan soldier turned and started heading along the path through the snow to follow Ethar. Whether she agreed with his taking the lead or not, letting him get separated from the group was a bad decision. She'd keep him in sight, at the very least.

When he heard voices behind him, Ethar stopped temporarily and saw that the group was following him, and they were all different sorts of people. A Business man, a Soldier, an unknown variable, and the hunter. "My people, before they became skilled in magic, where some of the best hunters in the sector. Luckily, I keep up with my hunting skills while living on Mt.Pazou, and my heightened senses will help us out.... I hope..." He said, before resuming the walk but instead of looking forward, he was somewhat slumped over, looking at the ground for any signs of someone being there before them.
Disturbed snow, broken twigs, anything. Even now and then, he would stop for a few moments and just... listen. But he always kept his feelers out for any nearby energy signatures incase his otehr senses deceived him.
Even as he was walking with the others, he couldn't shake an odd feeling. Like someone else was watching them... waiting... Turning his head back, he asked them "Anyone feel like we are not alone out here? Or am I just being a bit paranoid?"

Xero listened to the backgrounds of the people he was partnered with and it made him cringe. Undoubtedly, it was a good thing he was paired with at least a soldier, but a businessman and someone so cocky? It was then he was called upon to say his piece, ”Xero,” he stated plainly, but gave a light bow to infer that was his name.
The Hellbringer fed him some history of his people; things he was already well aware of, but he chose to keep them to himself, ignoring the second voice inside him. Gratefully, because of this he would be able to catch the final words spoken by the cocky, brown-haired man. With a scoff, Xero crossed his arms over his chest, ”Noooo…” he hissed snarky, ”You really think we’d be searching for someone if we were all alone here?”
”Shush, it is not your place-“ the Hellbringer advised him internally, only to be cut short.
”No! No, I don’t think so!” he growled, more-so at himself, or rather his other self, than the brown-haired man. Suddenly a pain shot through his head, and his hand jumped to his forehead, ”Dammit!” he hissed, holding his head. This would be the first instance of a headache Xero had ever experienced, ”Screw it. You lead. Whatever.” he said dismissively, hoping that dropping the conversation that instant would make the sharp pain in his head disappear- it wouldn’t.

Listening to the cloaked woman's response to his overture for introductions, Gælon was happy to hear that she was indeed a soldier. However what immediately followed was somewhat disheartening as the young lady insisted that she did not wish to take up leadership of the group. All was not lost though, she had given him her name and that kept line of communication open which was always good. Next to pipe in though was the arrogant young man, returning seemingly once he realized that the rest of the group preferred to organize rather then strike out to trail behind his masterful tracking skills. It was amusing to hear him prattle on and truthfully it had taken Gælon some time to recall, but he had met this young man before. Upon his arrival to Earth this Ethar fellow had shown him to a proper clothier where the Incubus received the distinct impression that the young man was a eunuch. Regardless, his interaction with the rest of the group was only serving to breed negative results and that would not due.
Keenly the Dæmon felt the negative emotions erupting to the surface of the handsome, silver haired gentleman in the top hat, as that same gentleman replied to Ethar's boosting with at first a flow of sarcasm and then outright anger. Along the way Gælon could clearly, in his own empathic way, feel the sudden spike in the silver man's emotions, pain that he most certainly was not enjoying. Whether it was emotional or physical Gælon could not tell, he was not after all a telepath. His experience and natural ability to feed off of positive emotions though left him with a wisdom of sorts that told him when those around him were experiencing distress associated with pain and whether they were enjoying it or not. Xero, as he now knew the silver hair's man's name to be, was most certainly not.
Negative emotions being the very antithesis of what sustains the Dæmonic man, Gælon couldn't simply let the situation fester, least of all for the sake of the mission, more so though so he wouldn't have to stomach the queasy feeling the negative emotions gave him. "Friends..." he started speaking a little louder to shut everyone up before another word could be uttered. "I am sensing some friction of personalities here. Now, as I said, I may not be a general prosecuting a war here, but as a business man I understand certain things, and one of them is that in the work place, people must get along and work together for the company to thrive. Like the company, this mission requires us to work together and at the very least, get along for the sake of success if nothing else. Now, Celeh here tells me that she is a soldier, as such I think we can count on her for sound judgment in tactical matters. However she does not wish to lead. At the same time I am sensing resistance by everyone at our 'Hunter' friend's attempts at leadership. And lastly, receiving no such signs of desire to do so from Xero here, I must put myself forth into this role. I will admit, I'm not the ideal candidate, but by nature I am a people person and I will see to it that each of you is heard, properly utilized and work together."
Pausing for a moment, Gælon considered his next action carefully. Ethar knew what he was but the others so far did not, nor could the Incubus know just how they might react. He didn't have time to dillydally on the issue though, they had a fiend to catch. "Now, before anyone says anything I must say one more. As I am asking you to trust in me to lead, so must I trust in you to follow instructions and work with me. To that end I feel honesty is paramount in this endeavor." He paused to take another breath and continued. "I am not simply a business man. I arrived on Earth not from one of the outer colonies as my biography suggests, but rather from somewhere much farther away... And while my heritage might to some seem rather dubious, I can assure you, I have had nothing but the best intentions during my stay on this world."
With that, Gælon took off his hat, tossing it to the side, and as if by magic, the stylish piece of clothing dissolved into nothing as it fell into the snow. The same very quickly happened to the rest of the man's impeccable, black, business suit, the fine threads he'd conjured dissolved away as his very form started to change. The man's skin took on a red hue as his height and body mass increased in proportion, adding a few inches to bring him to an impressive six foot nine. And then the most dramatic touches, a stubby pair of horns protruded from the man's skull while at the same time a pair of red, leathery wings erupted from his now bare back. Over the course of a few seconds the transformation back to his natural form completed it's self and Gælon stood before the group in all of his Dæmonic glory... wearing his usuall leather trousers of course.
"Mmmm... Much better..." Gælon stated as he stretched his arms, and then wings and finally coiled up and released his tail. Adjusting the leather choker around his neck, the Dæmon continued "Well, now that my cards are all on the table as it were, may I count on all of you for both your discretion after we succeed in this mission and your support in the execution of that success?"

Celeh fell silent once again and kept that way while the others began to speak amongst themselves. She took note of the discontent of the others when it came to Ethar's taking the lead. The woman wasn't against his leadership, but she wasn't particularly for it, either, as she had little experience with him in the field personally. The rather courteous, well spoken, and seemingly well mannered fellow that had asked the names and skills of those in the group began to speak up about his own background, abilities, and origin...and it did surprise her a little when she saw his true nature. Unlike the others, though, who probably had their own biases regarding demons of any sort...Celeh didn't mind at all.
"You've naught to worry about from me. I don't exactly associate with most of the Earthlings I encounter..." She paused to take a breath and scan the area with her eyes and her finer senses, but she continued to speak to Gaelon, "The blood that runs through your veins only determines WHAT you are, not who. Most may consider your heritage to be dubious and unsavory, but then there are plenty who'd say the same of Saiyans like myself. As long as you work together with the rest of us and towards the success of our mission, you'll hear no complaints or shrewd comments from me about your ancestry."
And with that, she turned back to Ethar, "Sarcasm aside, isn't that the point? We were sent here to look for someone who stole a valuable artifact. It stands to reason that someone would be here waiting on us, even if it's not the thief. It could be someone working with them to set up a trap."

Ethar started to grow all the more frustrated with Xero and his attitude. He started to see more and more like an unreliable loose cannon, one that could jeopardize their mission potentially. Looking towards him, Ethar was about to snap at him, but Gaelon attempted to diffuse the situation and offered to take the lead.
Which, to Ethar, was a good idea. Having not to lead, he could focus on his efforts and started to focus on sensing nearby energies. Gaelon revealed who he truely was, and wasnt surrpised since he knew what he was the first time they met. Heck, Gaelon even attempted to seduce him then, but things didnt go Gaelon's way that day, and they hadn't seen eachother since that day. Looking back to Xero, he said "Whatever indeed. I just hope you dont fight the same way your name sounds...| as he heard Celeh speak to him.
"IF they are here, I can't seem to sense anything of a threat. Aside from us, the only powerful energies I can sense are the other group. So that makes me come to three conclusions... 1, Whoever we are supposed to find is very good at hiding their energy. 2, since I can only sense living beings, the person we are looking for is cloaked by technology, or 3. This is all a ruse to get the group separated... make us weaker... In any case, I smell a trap... And if it is, that... Santa person, is in on it, which could mean the others might be in danger as well.... Or I could just be over thinking things.... But it still seems suspicious... Wouldnt you agree?" He asked in reply, as he looked back to the Saiyan, and the others in their group.
(Note: Ethar has new training equipment which will be used in this thread)

(I'm really sorry, but I have decided to trashcan this character. I can not play as him any longer, as he has become stagnant and will not flow.)
Xero gave a growl at Ethar once more, shaking his head, "I can't do it," he said, stopping in his tracks, "This man is an idiot. To stay in his presence would be hazardous to my own well being!" Turning on a heel, he rose into the air and scoffed, "I'm out of here. Follow the fool to your deaths, if you wish!" With that the silver-haired man jetted off at an incredible speed, maybe never to be seen again...

“I am most relieved to hear that madam.” Gælon replied to Celeh after she stated quite clearly that she was not bothered by his true nature. Her response was also something that awakened his attention in another way. Until this moment, the Dæmon had not considered her more then an able bodied combatant, and in truth his attention was more on the silver haired gentleman. Now though that her acceptance of his nature was evident, the red haired Incubus saw a new metaphorical door open, one that he made a mental note to explore later.
What was even more surprising than her inspiring speech about such acceptance, was how readily the brown haired rogue agreed to his leadership. But most surprising of all was Xero’s outburst and departure. Gælon had done his best to defuse the situation but it appeared his best efforts on that front simply weren’t enough. Much to his dismay, the attractive, silver haired fellow departed in a huff so strong that the Incubus was visibly disoriented. Indeed, since he had his empathic abilities trained on Xero, the man’s outrage brought Gælon to the point that he felt he was going to vomit. Even as the man blasted off, Gælon’s wings drooped, his shoulders slumped and he cradled his middle with one arm while he reached at to the young woman for support with his other. It was simply the worst case of bad timing in the world given his unique physiology.
“Apologies madam.” the Dæmon said through gritted teeth. “I will recover in a few moments. I was not prepared for that. Negative emotions you see, they are draining… And worse still I was concentrating on him… It’s like leaving yourself open to an attack you do not expect.”
